Raiffeisen Bank
User's Subscriptions

Adding the ability to manage Subscriptions to the bank's mobile application: adding new subscriptions, refusing and resuming payments for a subscription.

  • 2020/Russia (3-4 weeks)

  • Senior Product Designer

Client's Brief

Imagine that there is a place in the mobile bank where all the user's subscriptions to services (eg Spotify, Netflix...) are stored.

It was necessary to focus on the mechanics of working with subscriptions:

  • Storage and informing about future write-offs;

  • Adding a new subscription;

  • Suspend or unsubscribe.

Context

The subscription functionality was provided in the application, but it was not developed at all. After studying the feedback from users (reviews in the App Store, comments), the following could be distinguished:

  • Perhaps the key and one of the most requested features is the ability to manage individual subscriptions (Menu item "Other payments -> Online payments").

  • The functionality provides access to the list of services to which the card is linked and for which funds have already been debited (for example, Netflix, Uber, etc.).

  • If necessary, you can block write-offs for certain services.

  • Important: blocking charges ≠ unsubscribing. The service may accumulate debt and write off the full amount in the future, when the user decides to return.

Determining the required screens

Immersed in the context of the task, as well as analyzing direct and indirect competitors (the best solutions, similar mechanics), a map-scheme of screens was drawn up with clarification of the priority of preparation (we do, we don’t do it and we do it if we have time)

Wireframes

For the presentation of the developed mechanics for the Subscriptions section, scripts were prepared in the format of wireframes.

Scenario #1 "View my subscriptions"

The developed logic of the Subscriptions section in the application is best represented as the most common scenario of user behavior in a typical need situations.
The picture below shows an example of a situation when a user receives a push notification about an upcoming charge for renewing a subscription, after which the user goes to the application to make some changes to it (delete, edit...)

UI Design System update

Throughout the couple weeks; I researched, made wireframes, designed main screens and the UI elements,that the developers can easily incorporate the visual language into their projects.

RESULT

The team is happy with the result. It was cool to participate in this project and update the built-in functionality, making it understandable and useful for users.
